Free seminar, 2 February in Chapmanslade, Wiltshire

Published: 15 January 2013

How can a Community Land Trust help you to develop a sustainable future?

Why not join us for a free seminar on Community Land Trusts on the morning of Saturday 2 February, from 10.00 to 12.00 at Chapmanslade Village Hall, nr Westbury?

A Community Land Trust (CLT) is a non-profit, community-based organisation run by volunteers that develops assets that are owned and controlled by and for the benefit of their community.  Many forward-looking communities around the country are starting up Community Land Trusts to undertake their own projects to tackle the needs of local people.

Creating homes that key workers and young families can afford to buy so they can live and work locally is a priority for CLTs in many areas.  Others have rescued local shops and pubs from closure, built affordable office space for new local businesses, or created woodland and other recreational facilities for local people to enjoy – all things that make for a better quality of life and a more sustainable community in the long term.

If you would like to learn more about CLTs and how one could benefit your community, you will find the seminar useful.  It is being run by Wiltshire CLT, which has been set up to help communities form their own CLTs and develop viable projects.

You can find a printable programme and booking form to the left hand side of the screen.  Of for more info, please get in contact.

We hope so see you in Chapmanslade on 2 February.
